Lancôme Hypnôse Volume-à-porter Mascara
When I don't wear any product on my lashes, they are practically invisible. That's why I always wear some kind of mascara. I used to love the Benefit Rollerlash mascara (and I still do), but after hearing a lot of Youtubers talk about the Lancôme Hypnôse mascara, I decided to give it a try and it did not dissappoint!
There are a few different versions of the Hypnôse mascara available, but I decided to go for the Volume-à-porter, since this one gave volume to the lashes without being clumpy (I tried it out in the store).
I initially only meant to use this one for special occassions, since it is quite pricey, but I just liked it so much that I started to grab for this mascara almost every single day and I still do.
This mascara sells for €29,90 and I'm definitely buying a new one once my current one runs out 'cause it's just great!
NYX Love Contours All Palette
I had my eye on this one for quite some time before I finally decided to go for it. I had already seen this palette in the store and I had already seen pictures and swatches of it on Instagram. I was quite hesitant to buy this, since I don't actually use eyeshadow that often. So, being the makeup junkie that I am, I gave myself a waiting period of 30days. If I still wanted this palette that bad after those 30days I was allowed to buy it. And guess what, after 30days of waiting and questioning if I really needed this palette or if I just wanted this because I want to collect all the makeup in the world (you'll get this if you're as addicted to makeup as I am, you gotta catch 'em all, don't you ;)? ), I went into my local NYX store and bought it. And I have been using it religiously ever since.
This palette comes with nine eyeshadows, two highlighters, two contour shades/bronzers and two eyebrow powders.
I have been using the eyebrow powders almost every single day. They have completely replaced all my other eyebrow products. They are just the perfect shade for me. I use the darker shade on the outer part of my eyebrows and the lighter shade on the inner part (like the lady who did my brows last time told me to).
Another powder I've been using a lot, is the left contour shade. Right now the other contour shade is a little bit too deep for me, but I'm guessing it will be a great color in summer, when I'm a little more tanned (right now, I'm so white, I probably glow in the dark :p).
And I have even been playing around quite a bit with the eyeshadows in this palette. My favourites are the taupe one and the lightest shade in the top corner (it's a great base for your eye makeup), so obviously I'm still playing it kind of safe but I'm slowly but surely getting into the bolder colours as well and trying out new eyelooks with this palette. The eyeshadows aren't too powdery and have good color pay off.
The only two powders that I don't really use are the highlighters. Not because they are not beautiful or anything (cause they are!), but just because I don't really wear any highlighter.
This palette sells for €25 and even considering the fact that I don't use the highlighters, I still think this is worth every penny!
Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation
Truth be told, I only bought this foundation because it came with a free concealer, but it's a good thing I did since it is now one of my favourites ;).
I bought this foundation together with the concealer for 6€!!!!! So it's ridiculously cheap. I'm always somewhat sceptic towards cheaper makeup, thinking that it won't work as well as the more expensive ones or that it will break me out, but did this foundation prove me wrong!
I apply this foundation with a damp makeup sponge and it leaves my skin with a flawless finish. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all, yet it still covers up blemishes and helps tone down the redness in my face. It actually has a pretty good staying power as well. I top this off with some loose setting power and I'm set for the day.
If there's one thing that I don't like about this foundation, it's the scent. It has quite a strong perfume, and not a perfume that I particularly enjoy. But I can look past that.
I find myself reaching for this foundation over my other ones, even despite the perfume, so for that reason alone, this one deserved a spot in my favourites.
Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate
This is one of my all time favourite products! I use this every single night and I have a bottle at home and in my studio at uni, just so I never have to go a night without it! This concentrate has been a favourite for some years now and I expect it to remain a favourite for a lot more years to come. But since this is the first time we are doing monthly favourites over here, I thought it worth it to give this one a mention.
If you want to read more about this concentrate, I actually wrote an entire blogpost reviewing this product and its ingredients, which you can check out here.
Lancôme Hypnôse Volume-à-porter Mascara
Since Nakiska and I go shopping/wandering/... a lot together, we came across this mascara on one of our lets-go-buy-some-makeup-strolls. There was a sale going on (21 procent) at the ICI Paris XL and Nakiska bought this mascara. I picked it up a little bit later (without any discount, stupid me) but halleluja, this is soooooooo good! I have been using this every day and it does not flake (it survived the longest nap without budging whatsoever). I have to admit it is pricey but it hasn't been drying out since I opened it. If you want to know how to revive a dried up mascara, read more here. I will be doing this if this mascara dries out, but it will probably be used up rather than dried out ^^. A little tip: subscribe to the email service of the ICI Paris XL store, there is a discount almost every month of 10-20 procent on the website ;).
MIXA Eau Micellaire with zinc
This micellar water is one of the best I have tried so far. My niece recommended this to me for so long and since there was a sale going on (buy one, the other one half the price) at Kruidvat, I bought this on a whim. I use this to remove my makeup and dirt from my skin and after that I go in with my cleansing oil to get rid of abolutely everything. It really helps to calm my skin since there is zinc in it. Zinc is known to fight acne and to decrease your acne lesions. There is a slight scent to this but it doesn't give me a headache (really sensitive to strong scents). A huge thumbs up for this product, love love love!
Kiehls Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil
As I already mentioned, I use this together with the micellar water from MIXA. The two together are a golden combination. This cleanser is really gentle since it does not contain any sulphates. My ultra facial cleanser from Kiehl's contains sulphates and it does strip the skin a bit so it is key you moisturize really good after using that one. With this cleansing oil, I don't have this feeling and it takes of my sunscreen that I apply every day without any effort (PS: if you want to remove sunscreen, you should use a cleanser that contains oils since it will remove everything).
Butter Bronzer by Physicians Formula
My butter bronzer by Physician's Formula is one of my absolute favourites of this month. Whenever I applied bronzer, I reached out for this one. It smells amazing (like a piña colada), it is buttery smooth and it blends into the skin like a dream. For all the snow white skin people: you need to try this! I use the Pro Blending brush by Primark to shizzle out my cheekbones and to create a sunkissed look ;).
Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF50
From the moment I bought it, I have been applying this every single day! This sunscreen is heaven, it doesn't break me out and makeup applies just perfect on top of it. It is a must in my skincare routine. If you know any other good sunscreens for the face, let me know in the comments below ;). If you want to read more, I wrote a whole blogpost dedicated to SPF and this sunscreen.
Nina Ricci Luna Eau de Toilette
This has been my favourite scent this month. I spritz one time and it lingers all day. It has hints of vanilla in it and well, I just love vanilla, what more can I say :D. I suggest you go give this a try in your local perfume shop because you can't twist about taste when it comes to perfume ;).
Well, we hope you enjoyed this post ;) .
Lots of love
